Email open rate statistics

Mark Pack made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Education

The request was successful.

From: Mark Pack

27 January 2013

Dear Department for Education,

Please provide me with the data that you have collected about the
email open rates for bulletins, circulars, newsletters,
round-robins or other similar messages sent on behalf of the
department or ministers to teachers or schools.

I am not interested in the data for specific one-to-one email
messages between the department and a teacher or school about an
issue particular to them. Rather, I am interested in the data for
more general one-to-many type communications.

I would like the individual open rate figure for each such message
sent out during the 2012 calendar year, along with which minister
the message was from (if applicable), the bounce rate and the date
and time the email was sent.

I would prefer to receive this information electronically, but if
the data is too large for email to be practical, or if some of the
information is only available in hard copy, please let me know and
I will provide a postal address.

If some sections of this request will take significantly longer
than other sections to answer, please respond in parts rather than
holding up a response until all the information is available.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Pack

Dear Department for Education,

Thanks for your response to my FoI request.

Unfortunately, the spreadsheet you mention in it doesn't seem to
have come through successfully.

Would you mind trying sending it again?

Best wishes,

Mark Pack
