Email Correspondence between DHSC and Abortion Providers for 1st Jan to 14th Feb 2022
Dear Department of Health and Social Care,
Thank you for all you do to serve the health of our country.
BACKGROUND: Three weeks ago the British Pregnancy Advisory Service were raising concerns on Twitter that EMA abortion would be scrapped. A week later they were stating on twitter: "we welcome news that Government will not revoke permission for at home medical abortion". This has been accompanied by no official announcement by the DHSC on the matter.
In light of this please can I request:
1. A statement from the DHSC specifying exactly what has been approved or not approved between themselves and the abortion industry.
2. All correspondence, in date order, between the DHSC and abortion providers (BPAS, Marie Stopes, NUPAS ect) between 1st Jan and 14th Feb. You may redact names and other personal data of lower-ranking civil servants only. If possible please do not redact names of any heads of staff in either institution.
Yours faithfully,
Christian Hacking
