Elective Home Education
Dear Staffordshire County Council,
In a previous FOI:
it was mentioned that the EWO first deal with parents who have de-registered from school to Home Educate. Can you answer the following questions please?
Q1. What information is gathered by the EWO team and what forms are used to receive this information? Please provide a blank copy if possible.
Q2. What information do the EHE team expect to see before they would consider that a child is 'in receipt of EHE'?
1) what policies and procedures are followed to gain this
information?
Q3. If a child is not considered to be in receipt of EHE, are they marked as CME?
Q4.What are the numbers of people who have been told their
educational provision is not suitable from calendar years 2010 - present?
Of these numbers, how many have:
1) Been asked to provide further information?
2) Did not respond to a request for further information?
3) Responded and provided further information that was considered
to be unsatisfactory.
4) Declined to provide further information?
5) Were informed that a SAO would be considered if further
information was not provided?
6) Put their child into school?
7) Were threatened with a SAO?
8) Were given a notice of intent to issue a SAO?
Of those given a notice of intent to issue a SAO:
1) How many then provided satisfactory information?
a) What made this information satisfactory?
2) How many were taken to court?
3) How many were ordered to put their child into school?
a) Of the parents who were ordered to put their child into school, how many did not do so.
4) How many remained EHE?
Q5. Please provide a standard copy of the letter sent to parents after meeting with Olaf Hindmarsh, or his team, where the education was found to be unsuitable.
In another FOI:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/el...
your offices identified 10 children who you had concerns for.
Considering that 1 was on the CME register and according to a
further FOI:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/eh... that 1 SAO had been made I would like to know what the result of the SAO was, so;
1) Did they say they were Home Educating?
2) If yes, why was it considered they weren’t?
3) Was the SAO successful and did the child go back into school?
Q6. What information is kept for those who are EHE but have
declined support and where is this information kept?
1) What is the number recorded as 'EHE registered'?
2) What is the number recorded as 'EHE not registered'?
Q7. Is the 'Fair Notice Statement' still in use?
Yours faithfully,
Jane Pointon
