Dear Rhondda Cynon Taff Council,

Please provide figures for:

1) Number of Safeguarding concerns received
2) Number of Investigations conducted
3) Outcome of the investigations conducted. (e.g. substantiated, not substantiated, partially substantiated, etc.)
4) Number of Deaths of any person who used the care service
5) Number of Incidents reported to or investigated by the police
6) Number of Pressure Ulcers of any grade reported by the provider or external medical staff or family, etc.
7) Total number of elderly care/nursing homes within your local authority.

Please provide these figures in the following way:

1. Name and address of each home.

2. Breakdown of the above for years 2013, 2014, 2015 and for 2016 between January and May if available.

Please provide these figures in an excel spreadsheet or word document table format.

We refer to your Freedom of Information Request in respect of Adult
Care/Nursing Home Safeguarding Concerns, please refer to the attachment
for the Authority’s.

 

Unfortunately, we are unable to supply the information for Q6.  This is
because the information is not recorded in a way that allows an electronic
extraction and would require each and every case to be reviewed manually. 
Therefore the total costs of providing the information to this part of
your request will exceed the “appropriate limit” as stated in the Freedom
of Information and Data protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees)
Regulations 2004.

 

The above paragraph also applies to information not being provided by each
care home. The Authority does not record the information in that way, and
to collate the information in the way that has been requested would take
your request beyond the “appropriate limit”.

 

Accordingly, in accordance with Section 17 of the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 ("the Act") this email acts as a Refusal Notice.

 

As you may be aware you have a right of appeal against this decision.  If
you wish to exercise this right please set out in writing your grounds and
send your appeal to the Council's Principal Democratic Services Officer.
