Thank you for your information request received on 27/01/2022. This
request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

You requested the following information:

- The typical cost that would be charged to a member of the public, for a
care home, per week, procured by the council (assuming no
reliefs/discounts applicable). Please could you tell me the weekly price
for residential care, nursing care and nursing care with dementia. For
each pls can you itemise seperately the personal care element.
- The typical cost that would be charged to a member of the public, for an
hour of home care procured by the council (assuming no reliefs/discounts
applicable). Please could you itemise seperately the personal care element
if one exists.

I can confirm that Brent Council holds the information you have
requested.

- The typical cost that would be charged to a member of the public, for a
care home, per week, procured by the council (assuming no
reliefs/discounts applicable). Please could you tell me the weekly price
for residential care, nursing care. 
 
Answer - the amount the council would charge a member of the public would
depend on the outcome of their financial assessment and the amount they
could afford to pay. Nobody is charged more than the cost of the care
received. 
 
The fees that the council pays for residential and nursing care are -
 
Residential - £489 - £609
Residential Dementia - £551 - £671
Nursing - £544.00 - £667.00
Nursing Dementia - £564.00 - £686.00

- The typical cost that would be charged to a member of the public, for an
hour of home care procured by the council (assuming no reliefs/discounts
applicable). Please could you itemise separately the personal care element
if one exists.
 
Answer - the amount the council would charge a member of the public would
depend on the outcome of their financial assessment and the amount they
could afford to pay. Nobody is charged more than the cost of the care
received. 
 
The council pays £19.50 an hour for contracted homecare services.
