EHCPs and SEN transport
Good afternoon,
The following is a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I am requesting:
1) As of 31/12/2020, how many young people had Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)?
2) As of 31/12/2021, how many young people had Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)?
3) As of 31/12/2021, how many young people with an EHCP were placed in provision in the boundaries of a different local authority?
4) In reference to the figure provided in response to question (3), please break the figure down by local authority
5) As of 31/12/2021, how many young people in receipt of SEND transport funded by the local authority were taken to their education setting on their own (i.e. they are the only young person) in a taxis
I would like to receive the information electronically in a spreadsheet.
If the decision is made to withhold some of this information using exemptions in the Act, please inform me of that fact and cite the exemptions used.

Thank you for your recent request for information.
Your request is covered by the Freedom of Information Act, which requires us to respond within 20 working days.
Please Note - Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak we are currently working remotely. This has impacted our ability to access data to respond to requests for information.
Our staff are focussed on supporting the front-line delivery of our services, for example social care and public health to protect the most vulnerable in our society, and are not always able to provide to us with data for responding to requests as they normally would.
We would like to apologise for this disruption to our service and assure you that we will continue to process requests, however it is likely there will be a significant delay in our response to you.
We will determine and let you know whether we hold the information you have requested and consider whether we are able to release the information or if it is exempt from disclosure.
ECC does not usually charge for providing information to its requestors as the provision of electronic copies is negligible, however under certain circumstances we may have to do so if providing the information costs more than £25. We will let you know before we do any work that would incur a charge.
