Your request for information has been considered by Warwickshire County Council
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
You asked us for:
1. Number of hours of EHCP OT provision commissioned annually
Information not held.
Please be advised that Warwickshire County Council (WCC) does not commission or
record OT provision in this way.
The Integrated Care Board and the Council commission universal and targeted OT
services through South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.
This provision is accessed by children and young people with and without EHCPs who
have OT needs.
On occasion the Council also directly commissions OT on behalf of children and young
people where therapy is required over and above that which is available through the
core commissioned local offer.
2. Number of hours of EHCP OT provision that is unfulfilled at this current
moment
Information not held.
As advised above, WCC does not commission or record OT provision in this way.
3. Number of children waiting for OT assessments to form their EHCP
In order to undertake education, health and care needs assessments, WCC requests
OT advice from SWUFT, the agreed provider.
Currently there are no children waiting longer than six weeks for this advice (the
statutory timescale for advice).
4. What proportion of your organisation's annual requirement for EHCP OT
provision is delivered by an outsource independent provider?
WCC commissions SWUFT to provide Occupational Therapy services.
Occasionally where it is not possible for SWUFT to provide OT services, due to reasons
of capacity or eligibility for these services, then providers are commissioned through
spot purchasing. The Council does not hold a central record of how much OT provision
is commissioned through independent providers.
5. If you commission an independent provider to deliver the OT element of
EHCPS' on your behalf, please can you advise what commissioning mechanism
you use:
a. Through frameworks b. Direct relationships c. Preferred Supplier lists d. Other (please elaborate)
b. Through spot purchasing, using registered Occupational Therapists known to the
Council.
6. Where is your framework published?
Not applicable. There is no framework.
7. Who are your current Paediatric preferred suppliers for providing EHCP OT
provisions

WCC does not hold a list of preferred suppliers. EHCP OT provision is delivered
through South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust, with use of other providers as
an exceptional circumstance.

No. This is considered with on a case by case basis.
