Dear City of Edinburgh Council,

I am seeking the study named 'Edinburgh LRT Masterplan Feasibility Study' cited here:
http://archive.scottish.parliament.uk/bu...

Para 78 as " P44 Para 2 - makes reference to Arup, who produced a LRT Masterplan Feasibility Study for Edinburgh Council in January 2003"

and here in the final business case
http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/download/mee...

section 3.1, page 21 cites it as published.

I can see no trace of it in a publicly accessible location, and hence am making this request. It would be useful - in fact - if all of the documents cited on page 21 of the final business case for the trams were in a single location on your website.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Ingram

Dear Mr Ingram

Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Release of Information

Subject: Edinburgh LRT Masterplan Feasibility Study

Thank you for your request for information which has been dealt with under
the terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. Your request
for information has been considered and the information is enclosed.

You wrote asking the following;

I am seeking the study named 'Edinburgh LRT Masterplan Feasibility Study'
cited here:

I can see no trace of it in a publicly accessible location, and hence am
making this request. It would be useful - in fact - if all of the
documents cited on page 21 of the final business case for the trams were
in a single location on your website.

Our response;

Please see the attached Masterplan – Final Report.

In relation to your comments regarding all of the documents being in a
single location, it would indeed be useful if these were all in one place,
however this would require further investment and development. It should
be noted that there have been a multitude of documents/reports over the
years and it would not be feasible for all of these to be posted on the
web pages. This is why reference to Council reports are made as most, if
not all, of the documents are available through this source.

To promote transparency and accountability, please note it is the
Council’s policy to publish all request details and responses made under
the freedom of information legislation. This information will be made
available through the Council’s website and will not include your personal
details. The disclosure log is available at the following link:

Dear Clayton Pratt,

Thanks very much for a timely and complete response to my request. I think it's fine for you to cite the cost of placing these into one location as an issue now, and I hope in future you can work in ways that reduce the need to request older documents like this.

Many thanks,

Alex Ingram
