My questions is, what are Edinburgh Council trading? And why are Edinburgh Council a non-limited business?

Your request has been processed and considered under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and the information is provided below.

The City of Edinburgh Council is not incorporated as a company and registered as such with Companies House. Instead, the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) holds shares in various trading companies and is also represented on the Board of various companies. Further details of CEC’s Subsidiaries and Associates are published as part of the annual accounts, the latest being the 2017-18 audited accounts which can be found at 'Note 9' to the accounts at:
