Answer = Approximate cost of Edge of Care being involved with a family with X number of children for 3 months would be fine. X = number of children of your choosing.

This is not clear what is required, there is a guide of what the service
is, and a referral form for EOC, however I am not sure whether this is
what is required please clarify.
Answer = The referral form for EOC is what I am requesting, additionally may you also supply the guide of what the service is.
4) Number of referrals made for Edge of Care support in 2022 and the
number of these that were successful at panel – Can you explain what is
meant by panel and what is considered a success?
My answer = Some Council's require a referral be made to their Resources Panel, is this the same here? Success = referral made by social worker that is approved by panel/senior managers. If no approval is needed, the number of referrals forms sent by social workers to Edge of Care in 2022.
5) Please supply copy of your guidance available to assist social work
managers when carrying out a social worker’s appraisal and the form itself
completed as part of the appraisal – I am not sure what is requested. If
this is about supervision, there are templates, is this an annual

Clarity = This is about supervision, I would like a copy of all the
templates used please.
I can confirm that the search for the information you requested has been
completed and I can advise you of the following:
1. 14 Edge of Care Family Support Workers (all full time) 1 of which is
an Advance Practitioner, and 4 Edge of Care Social workers (FTE). Of
the social workers, 2 are reunification social workers, 1 is an
advanced practitioner, and 1 is the team manager.
2. Cost savings for each child. It saves £50k per annum if it avoids a
child being placed in external foster care or saves avg. £26k per
annum if it avoids the child being placed in inhouse foster care
(which is also dependent upon the child’s age) per year of EOC
involvement.
3. Please see attached EOC referral and one minute guide.
4. In 2022 there were 62 families referred to Edge of Care. That equates
to 109 children.
5. Please see attached.
