Economics ECAA and Interview scores 2018

We're waiting for Soi Wan to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear St John's College, Cambridge,

I am requesting the following information regarding Economics applicants applying to St John's College for 2018 entry or 2019 deferred entry.

For each candidate that was invited to interview:
- ECAA scores (for each of Section 1 Problem Solving, Section 1 Maths for Economists and Section 2) and interview scores (if possible, for each interview)
- Whether or not the candidate was given an offer

Please could you format all of this data into a single table such that for each candidate, all of the relevant data is in a single row.

Yours faithfully,

Soi Wan

Freedom of Information Officer, St John’s College, Cambridge

Dear Mr Soi Wan

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request concerning Economics
scores. Please see our response below.

To disclose individual ECAA scores for these applicants would require the
processing of the personal data of applicants for a purpose other than
that for which it was obtained and would therefore conflict with the Data
Protection Principles. However, the range of ECAA scores is as follows:

All applicants:

Section 1        Problem Solving for Economists:  ranged between 1.0 and
9.0
Section 1        Maths for Economists:            between 1.0 and 9.0
Section 2        ranged between 2.0 and 8.0

Invited to Interview:

Section 1        Problem Solving for Economists:  ranged between 1.5 and
9.0
Section 1        Maths for Economists:           ranged between 1.0 and
9.0
Section 2:       ranged between 2.0 and 8.0

Offer Holders:

Section 1        Problem Solving for Economists:  ranged between 2.0 and
9.0
Section 1        Maths for Economists:            ranged between 4.0 and
9.0
Section 2:       ranged between 4.0 and 8.0

To disclose individual interview scores for these applicants would require
the processing of the personal data of applicants for a purpose other than
that for which it was obtained and would therefore conflict with the Data
Protection Principles. However, the range of interview scores is as
follows:

All Interviews:

General Interview:       ranged from 5.0 to 9.5
Subject Interviews:      ranged from 4.0 to 9.0

Offer Holders Interview Scores

General Interview:       ranged from 6.0 to 9.5
Subject Interviews:      ranged from 7.5 to 9.0

In the subject interviews there are always three interviewers. Their marks
have not been averaged.

If you are dissatisfied with my response you may seek an internal review
in writing setting out the grounds for review. It will be dealt with by a
College Officer. Should you not be satisfied with the outcome of the
review, you will have a right of appeal to the Information Commissioner by
writing to him at Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water
Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Yours sincerely
