Dear sir,

Thank you for submitting an FOI request, requesting information from the University of Warwick. In order to comply with your request, we would be grateful if you could please clarify the following:

- Please could you provide us with your full name?

- When you ask for (the average A-Levels, please confirm whether you are only interested in 'A-levels' or you would like information based on every type of applicant included, - i.e. international students with their A-Level equivalent grades included?

Please note that some applicants will have a mix of qualifications – e.g. 1 A level and several BTECs…. Therefore averages are not entirely reliable/accurate and also hard to produce and even harder to produce when including international a-levels. If you are only really interested in A-Levels then limiting it to Home applicants with A-Level qualifications might make the request easier to respond to and provide more accurate figures.

Once we have received the above clarification as outlined we can then proceed with your request, and investigate this accordingly.

Please be advised that the University will be unable to proceed with your request until you have provided the requested clarifications and the 20 working day statutory time limit does not begin until clarification has been received. Should we not receive a reply to this email, your request will be closed in 20 working days.

Thank you for your email dated 2 May 2020 requesting information from the
University of Warwick under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please
find below your request and the University’s response.

I am writing to request data on:

1. The numbers of applicants who have secured a place on the Undergraduate
Economics BSc course using the UCAS adjustment service for 2019 entry.  

2. The average number of A* at A-level achieved by the applicants that got
a place through adjustment (again for Economics, 2019).

After the University sought clarification from you on 4 May 2020, you
provided the following further information:

I would like your response to include all Home students with only A-level
qualifications accepted onto the specified course through Adjustment

The University can confirm that the answer to question one and two of your
request is Zero.
