Freedom of Information, University of Leeds

Dear Thomas

Freedom of Information Response (Our Ref: K/22/411)

Thank you for your Freedom of Information (‘FOI’) request, reference
K/22/411.

The University of Leeds holds some of this information.

Your request read:

“May I please request the following information for the entry years of
2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 for the L100 Economics course and the LN13
Economics and Finance course at the University of Leeds:

 1. Number of Applicants

┌───────────────────┐
├────┬────┬────┬────┤
│2019│2020│2021│2022│
├────┼────┼────┼────┤
│2252│2674│2861│2735│
└────┴────┴────┴────┘

 2. Number of Offers Made

┌───────────────────┐
├────┬────┬────┬────┤
│2019│2020│2021│2022│
├────┼────┼────┼────┤
│1556│1930│2101│ 825│
└────┴────┴────┴────┘

 3. Number of Unconditional Offers Made

Please note, we have included those who were conditional and then became
unconditional within this figure.

┌───────────────────┐
├────┬────┬────┬────┤
│2019│2020│2021│2022│
├────┼────┼────┼────┤
│ 395│ 473│ 443│ 164│
└────┴────┴────┴────┘

 4. Number of Places

┌────┬────┬────┬─────┐
│2019│2020│2021│2022 │
├────┼────┼────┼─────┤
│ 162│ 182│244 │  195│
└────┴────┴────┴─────┘

 5. Mean number of A* predicted grades for those sitting the A-Level, of
whom received an offer

Predicted grades are not stored in a format which allows the counting or
interrogating to occur in a meaningful way, nor are they necessarily
received for all applicants. Therefore, we are unable to provide a
response to this question.

6) Mean number of A* achieved grades for those who sat the A-Level, of
whom received an offer

┌────┬────┬────┬────┐
│2019│2020│2021│2022│
├────┼────┼────┼────┤
│ 1.6│ 1.8│ 1.9│ 1.9│
└────┴────┴────┴────┘

 7. Mean number of A* achieved grades at GCSE, of whom received an offer

Similar to Question 5, GCSEs are not entered in a consistent fashion (they
are often not entered at all). Therefore, we do not hold a reliable data
in which to give a meaningful answer to this question.

8) Number of offer holders who bear Further Mathematics as a fourth
A-Level”

┌───────────────────┐
├────┬────┬────┬────┤
│2019│2020│2021│2022│
├────┼────┼────┼────┤
│ 150│ 193│ 230│ 80│
└────┴────┴────┴────┘
