With respect to applications received in 2018 from students wishing to read Economics as an undergraduate for admission in 2019 please can you provide the following information for each applicant invited for interview:
i) region of domicile of applicant (Home or Overseas);
ii) UMS scores for any AS levels taken;
iii) Predicted or actual A Level grades;
iv) GCSE grades;
v) Scores obtained in the interview with the Director of Studies;
vi) Scores obtained in the second interview;
vii) Scores obtained in the pre-interview assessment; and
viii) Whether the applicant was made a direct offer, made an offer made by another college via the Winter Pool or rejected.
I refer to your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
regarding Economics applicants for entry in 2019. The information you
request is in the attached document.
Please note that the data that might be linked to a particular individual
is exempt under section 40(b) of the Act (Personal Data). Therefore the
information has been presented in a disaggregated form using mean and
range where appropriate. In addition, we have endeavoured to follow
guidance from the Information Commissioner regarding small numbers. The
aim has been to provide you with useful information whilst preserving the
privacy of those concerned.
The College’s complaints procedure provides for an internal review of the
decisions regarding this response if you are dissatisfied with it. You
should let me know if you wish to use it, letting me know your reasons for
dissatisfaction and any other matters to which the College should have
regard. The review will be conducted by another officer of the College,
who will notify you of its outcome.
You have a right to apply to the Information Commissioner for a decision
whether, in any specified respect, your request to the College for
information has been dealt with in accordance with the requirements of the
