Dear Information Officer,
Further to your reply to me following my request for the recent Ecology report for the site 123/125 West Hill Road. You state the council has, "No information held."
I do not understand why the council would not have a recent ecology report for this development site in view of the following evidence:
1) Letter from Murray Davidson - Environment & Natural Resources Manager dated 20th September 2016 to Atlas Partners Hastings Ltd. Mr Davidson states: " We are seeking assurances that you have engaged the services of a professional ecologist and are preparing a protected species mitigation plan for your development prior to undertaking further works. WE further advise that such a mitigation be SUBMITTED TO THE COUNCIL for discussion prior to works progressing." He goes on to say: " I look forward to meeting with and discussing species protection with your appointed ecologist."

On 2nd October 2016 following a telephone conversation with PC Freeman Sussex police Wildlife officer. He informed me the developer had hired an ecologist and he along with the council were waiting for their report.

An email dated 19th August 2016 from Eleanor Evans to Cllr Peter Chowney states: " The developer was advised then to stop work until they had sought advice from a professional ecologist.

In another email from Clive Satchell to Jordan Smith, Lisa Greathead and Linda Elsden dated 1st November 2016, he states: The Council have also advised the developers to engage the services of a professional ecologist and prepare a protected species mitigation plan.

In view of this evidence provided, I find it perplexing how the council has no information of any recent ecology report for this site. Also in view there have already been several visits on the site to relocate Slow worms.

May I please modify this FOI request now to include any communications and records held between the developer Atlas (Hastings) Ltd and Mr Davidson the Environment & Resources Manager in view of the council not holding any ecology report.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Heritage
