Eco Park Gasification incinerator questions
Dear Surrey County Council,
Following press releases and updates from SCC and Suez recently, I would like answers to the following questions please.
1. How much of the January to October 2022 figure of 1.3GWh was exported to the National Grid (to power the claimed 2,624 houses)? How much of this was generated by the Gasification plant itself and how much by the AD plant?
2. Please supply updated information for the same question (as above) for any updates figures, E.g. from October 2022 to present day.
3. How much of this power was actually used to power the gasification plant itself?
4. What are the Climate Change outputs that arise from burning multiburn max C and how does this relate to the facility’s environmental permit?
5. Reports on the composition of the waste provided show that plastic film is being taken out of residual waste. Can you supply an electronic copy of the waste composition analysis.
6. The NOx limit on the Eco Park is apparently much lower than other EFW plants. Please can you provide evidence to support this assertion.
7. While the CEMS is operated and managed by Suez, it is highly regulated by a stringent set of standards that have to be documented and shared with the Environment Agency who have the right to look at all records, maintenance and calibration at anytime, and if Suez were to fail, it would result in significant action by the EA.
When were the most recent announced and unannounced visits from the EA/EA requests to inspect the CEMS data?
Thank you for your assistance with this, I look forward to your response.
Yours faithfully,
Adrian Corti
