Freedom of Information, University of East Anglia

Dear William Clinton
We have been in contact with the relevant departments within the
University to collate the information for your Freedom of Information
request (UEA ref: FOI_17-005) and they require clarification of one
element of your request; namely what do you mean when you refer to SAP
course.
As we only have a limit time period to respond to your request, a prompt
response would be greatly appreciated.
Please quote our reference given at the top of this email in all
correspondence.

Dear Freedom of Information,

This is the DipHE course run on behalf of the EEAST for their Student Ambulance Paramedics employed by the Trust. I get the feeling that UEA are just playing for time with these minor details.

THIS IS NOT THE FULL TIME PARAMEDIC COURSE RUN BY UEA............

IF IN DOUBT PLEASE LOOK AT MY OTHER REQUEST.

Yours sincerely,

William Clinton

Mr Clinton

Thank you for your clarification of yesterday's date - we will proceed
accordingly and provide a response within the statutory time period.

As to the other points you raise, we work to a statutory deadline and must
provide a response "promptly" (s.10(1), FOIA) in any case.  Any
clarification we request is based solely on our need to understand what is
requested so that we can ensure that our response meets the requirements
of the requester. Although you did include a reference to the East of
England Ambulance Service in the header to your request, there was no
explanation as to what a ‘SAP’ was, nor was there a reference to the DipHE
Course.  This, and any clarification requested, simply reflects the input
we receive from members of our organisation that we contact to obtain the
requested information.

Additionally, we endeavour to treat our requesters with respect and
courtesy and would hope for the same in return.  'Shouting' by way of the
use of capitals is not necessary and will not result in any greater
understanding of your request on our part.  Indeed, we would advise, for
your benefit, that the use of aggressive or abusive language is one of the
criteria considered in determining whether to reject a request as being
'vexatious' (see ICO guidance here:
[1]https://ico.org.uk/media/for-organisatio...,
p.7).   We might also suggest that you refer to the ‘Information request
dos and don’ts’ section within the [2]How to access information from a
public body page on the ICO website.

Yours, Dave Palmer
