Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),

Can you please tell me how many requests for early deletion of records and the removal of cautions are waiting in the queue for a decision by the Commander in Specialist Crime & Operations as at 14 September 2015.

In the event this backlog exceeds 100 requests, could you confirm or deny whether this is due to staff cut backs / shortages. Please provide me with a copy of the action plan currently in place to manage any backlog.

by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) on 14/09/2015.  I note you seek
access to the following information:

"Can you please tell me how many requests for early deletion of records

DECISION

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.

Part one: In the event this backlog exceeds 100 requests, could you
confirm or deny whether this is due to staff cut backs / shortages.

As of the 18th September there were 164 requests awaiting decision by the
Commander. These are regularly reviewed by the Commander and dealt with on
a priority basis. The outstanding requests awaiting decision are not
attributable to any staffing issues

Part Two: Please provide me with a copy of the action plan currently in
place to manage any backlog
There is no information held for this part of the request.
