DWP Senior Civil Servants volunteering.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Department for Work and Pensions should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Volunteering is listed as an example of Corporate Contribution which is a mandatory objective for the Senior Civil Servants.

Please provide examples of voluntary work that DWP Senior Civil Servants have undertaken within the department.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Watson

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work and Pensions's handling of my FOI request 'DWP Senior Civil Servants volunteering.'.

You have stated "A list of volunteering activities undertaken by Senior Civil Servants is not
held centrally, however I can tell you volunteering is normally centred on
supporting DWP customers including pensioners, lone parents, disabled
people and children. Examples include classroom assistance in schools,
general support in Day Centre’s, Carer organisations, at homeless
shelters and supporting community groups, with computer support in
libraries and assisting community projects such as the renovation of
gardens and communal areas".

I find it impossible to believe Senior Civil Servants partake in the activities listed.

This response has been produced by the departments P.R. team.

Please provide verifiable examples of DWP Senior Civil Servants partaking in any of the activities listed.

If a list of volunteering activities undertaken by DWP Senior Civil Servants is not held centrally how do you know this is what DWP Senior Civil Servants do in their spare time?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Watson
