DWP operational requirement for remarks on Zambrano settled status BRC

We're waiting for Ollie Persey to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Zambrano carers granted Settled Status (Indefinite Leave to Remain) through the EU Settlement Scheme are being issued with Biometric Residence Cards (BRCs) with remarks on the front that state "WORK PERMITTED INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN" and remark on the back that state "DERIVATIVE RESIDENCE ZAMBRANO".

The Home Office has stated that the remarks on the back ("DERIVATIVE RESIDENCE ZAMBRANO") are "required in order to meet a DWP operational requirement".

Please provide details of this "operational requirement".

Yours faithfully,

Ollie Persey

Dear Ollie Persey,

I am writing in response to your request for information, received 5th
December.

Yours sincerely,

DWP Central FoI Team

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work and Pensions's handling of my FOI request 'DWP operational requirement for remarks on Zambrano settled status BRC'.

Zambrano carers granted Settled Status (Indefinite Leave to Remain) through the EU Settlement Scheme are being issued with Biometric Residence Cards (BRCs). The Home Office has stated that the remarks on the back ("DERIVATIVE RESIDENCE ZAMBRANO") are "required in order to meet a DWP operational requirement".

You refused my request for documents relating to this "DWP operational requirement" under s21 FOIA on the basis that the information was readily available. You linked me to two DWP guidance documents. Nowhere in these guidance documents is there the operational requirement I referred to in my FOI request.

Are you therefore confirming that there is no DWP operational requirement that Zambrano carers granted settled status should have the aforementioned remarks on their BRC issued after a grant of Settled Status?

If not, please disclose documents containing details of this "DWP operational requirement".

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

Ollie Persey
