DWP contract with Royal Mail

Max Kerley made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Work and Pensions This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was successful.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

As you are essentially the employer of the CHDA/Maxmimus and as you are the Data Controllers for the CHDA/Maximus, how is very sensitive information such as a persons case handled by the CHDA with regard to a claim being mailed to and from assessment centres and the DWP?

Yours faithfully,

Max Kerley

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Good afternoon.

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work and Pensions's handling of my FOI request 'DWP contract with Royal Mail'.

While appreciative of your reply, would you be able to clarify something?

You state in your response, that hard copies are sent via a secure mail service. Would any items of extrtemely sensitive persoanl information, ever be sent via a mail service that is a) Unrecorded and not signed for and b) Standard Mail?

How would the CHDA main office send out a claimants sensitive information? What happens when a claim file is missing?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

Max Kerley

I phoned DWP last year (2017) asking for registered address to send letter from GP containing medical information in regards to maximus assessment
I was told there was no registered address and all mail was sorted and opened at mail handling centre, dwp read it on screen, they don't receive the information in paper form.
I was horrified, she said "it's ok they don't have time to read it"....unbelievable
