I am pleased to tell you that it has been decided that a redacted version of this document will be made available for public viewing at The National Archives, Kew from 9 July. We have outlined your options for accessing the document at the end of this response.

We have handled your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The FOI Act gives you the right to know whether we hold the information you want and to have it communicated to you, subject to any exemptions which may apply.

Some of the information in the document is exempt under section 37(1)(a) of the Act. This means that we cannot release those parts and they will be redacted.

Section 37(1)(a) exempts information if it relates to communications with the Sovereign.
In this case the exemption applies because the document contains such communications.
