Formal complaints about students received by the University, relating to
assault from 2017/18 to date: 6

3 cases – Not Proceeded

2 cases – Ongoing

1 case – Immediate Expulsion

 

Our Security team record ‘incidents’ involving students, including alleged
assaults and sexual offences.  However, the information recorded does not
differentiate between offences alleged to have been committed by students
and those alleged to have been committed by other (non-student)
individuals.  Security incidents are provided below:

 

In 2016/17: Assault 14, Sexual offences 4

In 2017/18: Assault 14, Sexual offences 6

Note that there may be some duplication between the figures reported by
Security and those reported via the Student Complaints team.

 

The University has a Counselling, Health & Wellbeing Service to provide
