Section 107 of the Digital Economy Act, which received royal assent on 27 April 2017, grants police forces and the National Crime Agency the right to apply to the courts to restrict or prevent the use of communications devices in connection with drug dealing offences.

I write in connection with your recent F.o.I. request which was received
27^th April, 2018. I note you are seeking access to the following
information:

The number of applications made for drug dealing telecommunications
restriction orders between 27 April 2017 and 26 April 2018.

The number of applications for drug dealing telecommunications restriction
orders which were granted between 27 April 2017 and 26 April 2018.

Your request will now be considered in accordance with the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. You will receive a response within the statutory
timescales of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to the
information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party.
In some circumstances Surrey Police may be unable to achieve this
deadline. If this is likely you will be informed and given a revised
time-scale at the earliest opportunity.

There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and
the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment
from you. If you choose not to make payment then your request will remain
unanswered.

Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to
another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest
possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.
