Draft Action Plan , phases 2, Ferndale House, Seymour hill, Dunmurry

Department for Communities (Northern Ireland) did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Communities (Northern Ireland),
In October 2018 a Draft Tower Blocks Action Plan setting out how and when the 33 tower blocks would be removed from the ownership of "The Northern Ireland Housing Executive".
The Draft Action Plan for 5 tower blocks at Seymour Hill was to be put into 3 phases.
Phase 1 : Demolition (or disposal in some cases) in a 1 to 5 year time period;
Phase 2 : Demolition in a 6 to 10 year period, with remedial repair works carried out in the interim ;
Phase 3 : Demolition at a point beyond the 10 years period, with improvement works carried out as required.
The Northern Ireland Housing Executive has not contacted the residence of the tower blocks to keep us up-to-date on the proposed periods of time for the 3 Phases.
I would like your department to give me the up-to-date detailed plans and exact time for the demolition of the 5 blocks at Seymour Hill.

Yours faithfully,

John Leitch

COVID-19 Virus – Information for Requesters.

Thank you for contacting the Department for Communities FOI team,

While FOI law still applies during this time the Department is facing
unprecedented pressures – for example as a result of staff absences,
office closures, or a significant increase in demand for our services,
such as access to benefits.

Therefore we may find it challenging to respond to information requests
within the 20 working day timescale set out in law.

We would ask requesters to think about the impact of Covid-19 when making
a request. Your information rights remain vitally important, and the FOI
principles of openness, transparency and accountability will play an
essential role in supporting public trust at this difficult time.
However, if you're planning a request, it's worth thinking about whether
there is any way the request might be narrowed to reduce its impact and
speed up your response.

Following guidance from the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), we
will keep requesters informed of any delays and will respond as soon as
resources allow.

We will also be keeping up to date on guidance from the ICO as the
situation changes to ensure that we comply with any changes or amendments
to information rights practice.

Dear Department for Communities (Northern Ireland),

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Communities (Northern Ireland)'s handling of my FOI request 'Draft Action Plan , phases 2, Ferndale House, Seymour hill, Dunmurry'.

[ GIVE DETAILS ABOUT YOUR COMPLAINT HERE ]
Can you confirm you hold no up-to-date information regarding the demolition of the High Rise Flats at Seymour Hill ,Dunmurry. The Department for Communities (Northern Ireland) held meetings with all residents ,regarding the rehousing of the residents (First Phase ,draft action plan) at the Moynes and after the reallocation of all residents to new homes ,the High Rise Flats would be demolished.
The residents were told that they would be kept up-to-date regarding this matter ,it has now come to light that the high rise flats are not to be demolished ,I think we the residents need to be brought up-to-date regarding this matter,I wish to have an internal review ,regarding this.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

John Leitch
