Doncaster East IDB Thorne Moors Water Level Management Project Audit Documentation.

The request was partially successful.

Thorne & Hatfield Moors Conservation Forum

Dear Doncaster East Internal Drainage Board

On 7 January 2014, a request for information was submitted to the Vice Chair of Doncaster East IDB (an elected member) and the Chair of the Finance Committee of the same Board (DMBC nominated). No acknowledgement has yet been received despite assertions that one had (past tense) been sent, the claim made by the Chief Executive of Shire Group IDBs at a meeting on Monday 12 January when the matter was raised.

Unrelated correspondence received 9 January 2015 (Ref.: 2014s1006-5-1-L001-E002-21) informs the Executive to correspond through the Clerk to the Board.

Further to both the above points, the Executive now formally, through this website, require that the paper-trail of audit documentation relating to the Thorne Moors Water Level Management Plan be released for public scrutiny, namely the following:

(1) Written instruction (or file note made following a verbal exchange) to commence audit.
(2) Terms of Reference and audit scope at the time of initiation.
(3) Who the auditor was/is still reporting to on a regular basis?
(4) What were the outline anticipated costs at the time of initiation?
(5) What is current running total cost of this audit?
(6) Who from or on behalf of the DEIDB Finance Committee checked the veracity of the financial information provided to the committee before the project was suspended?
(7) When did the Chief Executive of Shire Group of IDBs instruct the WLMP Project Officer to formally unsuspend the Water Level Management Project?

We look forward to receipt of this documentary evidence at the earliest opportunity.

Yours faithfully,

Thorne & Hatfield Moors Conservation Forum

Alison Briggs, Doncaster East Internal Drainage Board
