Domestic Violence by NHS trust and board
Dear London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust,
I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act for information relating to your activities with regards to domestic violence.
Could you please tell me:
Do you provide access to an Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor?
If yes, do you provide access to an IDAA at every hospital site?
Do you employ a domestic abuse specialist nurse?
If yes, do you employ a domestic abuse specialist nurse at every hospital site?
Do you have a Domestic Abuse policy?
If yes, please provide a copy.
Do you produce an annual safeguarding report on domestic abuse?
Do you conduct internal audits to ensure compliance to the domestic abuse policy?
Have you conducted training for staff on domestic abuse in the last 12 months. If no, in the last 24 months?
How many domestic abuse, stalking and harassment (DASH) risk assessments were completed by the trust/health board in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020?
How many domestic abuse, stalking and harassment (DASH) referrals were made by the trust/health board to a Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020?
Please provide the data for the last two parts of my request in a spreadsheet format.

I am now in a position to respond to your noted questions/query as
follows;
1. Do you provide access to an Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor?
Yes
2. If yes, do you provide access to an IDAA at every hospital site?
Yes (*Please note that although the IDAAs are based at Northwick Park
Hospital they also support staff and patients from all LNWH hospital
sites)
3. Do you employ a domestic abuse specialist nurse?
No. However, the Trust’s Head of Safeguarding, Named Nurse for
Safeguarding Children and Named Midwife for Safeguarding are domestic
abuse specialists and lead on domestic abuse work across the Trust.
4. If yes, do you employ a domestic abuse specialist nurse at every
hospital site?
Not applicable, see question 3.
5. Do you have a Domestic Abuse policy?
Yes
6. If yes, please provide a copy.

Yes, this is incorporated in the Safeguarding Annual Report
8. Do you conduct internal audits to ensure compliance to the
domestic abuse policy?
Yes
9. Have you conducted training for staff on domestic abuse in the

Yes

Not applicable, see question 9.
11. How many domestic abuse, stalking and harassment (DASH) risk
assessments were completed by the trust/health board in 2016, 2017, 2018,
2019 and 2020?
12. How many domestic abuse, stalking and harassment (DASH) referrals
were made by the trust/health board to a Multi-Agency Risk Assessment
Conference in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020?
Information not available. This data is currently collated by the Trust
IDVA Service Provider as they also support staff to complete these and the
DASH risk assessment is part of the IDVA checklist and referral to MARAC
(Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) The Safeguarding Team and the
IDVA Service are currently updating the Service Level agreement which will
incorporate assurance Dash board with information on DASH risk checklist,
MARAC referrals.
13. Please provide the data for the last two parts of my request in a
spreadsheet format.
This information has been provided in the manner recorded by the Trust.
*As noted as part of the Trust’s acknowledgement email, staff are
currently responding to urgent operational issues in dealing with Public
Health priorities, and therefore any further information you may require
to that provided, as above, may be subject to delay at this time.
