The request was successful.

Dear Aberdeen City Council,

How many dogs were put to sleep in 2015?
How many dogs were put to sleep in 2014?
How many dogs were put to sleep in 2013?

To clarify this means dogs put to sleep by or/and on behalf of the council, it's contractors, agencies, dog wardens, kennels, etc.
I do not require any information about police, private individuals and vets putting dogs to sleep without the council involved.
Year can be a calendar year, april-april or/and any other type of year to suit the council and/or information you have.

Yours faithfully,

Yours faithfully,

James Jones

Dear Mr Jones,

Thank you for your information request of 9 August 2017.  Aberdeen City
Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested.

How many dogs were put to sleep in 2016?

How many dogs were put to sleep in 2015?

How many dogs were put to sleep in 2014?

How many dogs were put to sleep in 2013?

How many dogs were put to sleep in 2012?

The following shows the number of stray dogs that were collected by the
Council Dog Warden Service or Police Scotland (formerly Grampian Police),
taken to a local kennel premises used for the retention of stray dogs and
subsequently put to sleep.  The dogs were only put to sleep if not
collected by the owner and could not be rehomed.  Note the decision to put
to sleep is made by the kennel operator and not the council.

2016: 2

2015: 3

2014: 5

2013: 4

2012: 13

We hope this helps with your request.

Yours sincerely,
