Dog wardens

The request was successful.

Dear Greenwich Borough Council,
1a. For each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 could you please tell me the total number of w.t.e (whole time equivalent) dog wardens you employ?
However if...
1b. the role of the dog warden has been dispersed to other staff could you please let me know for each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 how many people undertake dog warden duties and what proportion of their time in whole time equivalents (w.t.e.) that they roughly spend on the dog warden's role.
or 1c if you do not directly employ any dog wardens and manage this function via a contract with an external provider can you likewise let me know for the same time period how many people the external provider employs to carry out the dog warden role and what proportion of their time they spend on the role (if it is not 100%).

2. For each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 how many Commercial Breeding Establishments are there for dogs? (Commercial Breeding Establishments defined as 5 or more litters per year).

Yours faithfully,

H. Guite

foi, Greenwich Borough Council

Dear Sir/Madam

Freedom of Information request:  FOI-28409

Thank you for your request dated 31 May 2019

Our response is as follows:

1a. For each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 could you please tell me the
total number of w.t.e (whole time equivalent) dog wardens you employ?

The Royal Borough employed one w.t.e dog warden during the years 2005/6 to
2008/9; during the years 2009/10 to 2018/19 the Royal Borough did not
employ any dog wardens.

However if...

1b. the role of the dog warden has been dispersed to other staff could you
please let me know for each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 how many people
undertake dog warden duties and what proportion of their time in whole
time equivalents (w.t.e.) that they roughly spend on the dog warden's
role.

Not applicable.

or 1c  if you do not directly employ any dog wardens and manage this
function via a contract with an external provider can you likewise let me
know for the same time period how many people the external provider
employs to carry out the dog warden role and what proportion of their time
they spend on the role (if it is not 100%).

The Royal Borough during the years 2009/10 to 2018/19 and to date
outsources the dog warden service to an external provider.  The provider
utilises three w.t.e dog wardens to deliver a 24-hour stray dog collection
service.

2. For each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 how many Commercial Breeding
Establishments are there for dogs? (Commercial Breeding Establishments
defined as 5 or more litters per year).

·       The Royal Borough had no commercial dog breeding establishments
for each year between 2005/6 to 2009/10.

·       The Royal Borough had one commercial dog breeding establishment
for each year between 2010/11 to 2013/14.

·       The Royal Borough had no commercial dog breeding establishments
for each year between 2014/15 to 2018/19.
