1. For each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 could you please tell me the total number of w.t.e (whole time equivalent) dog wardens you employ?

2. For each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 how many Commercial Breeding Establishments are there for dogs? (Commercial Breeding Establishments defined as 5 or more litters per year).

Dear foi,

Thank you very much for the information that you have sent me. I am writing for clarification who carries out the other functions (i.e in addition to the lost or stray dog function) that dog wardens are expected to carry out. I refer to table 1 in last year's DEFRA report https://tinyurl.com/y63hnmv3, such as enforcement of dog behaviour legislation?

Also I wonder who is inspecting the Dog Breeding Establishments as this is a LA responsibility?

Many thanks
Hilary

Dear Dr Guite

Further to your email, various officers from Environmental Health or Neighbourhood Services could be involved with some of the other functions such as dog on dog attacks or enforcing the Public Space Protection Order in relation to dogs. The PSPO is available on the website:

http://www.rother.gov.uk/article/2719/Pu...

The inspecting of dog breeding establishments is performed by members of our Licensing Team.
