Please can you advise about the enabling, engagement and education eventsxthat have taken place since 2018 and the job title of the person delivering

Please see below details of campaigns and communications that have
happened over the past 5 years:
2018
o Love Where You Live campaign developed and launched, to support
volunteers with litter picking. Launch event at Birkenhead Town Hall
and two follow up forums. Delivered by Team Leader (Waste
prevention).
o 10 Tikspac dog poo bag dispensing boards installed at locations around
the borough. Monitored and refilled by volunteers and Council staff.
2019
o Further 2 LWYL forums held, for environmental volunteers to meet and
share best practice, discuss challenges and obtain support from the
Council.
o All litter and dog fouling enforcement ceased in March.
o No specific engagement events for dog fouling.
2020
o No face to face engagement due to Covid-19 pandemic.
o April 2020 – Press release and social media posts to promote ‘bag it
and bin it’.
2021
o No face to face engagement at the start of the year due to Covid-19
pandemic.
o New Community Patrol Officers employed by the Council, to speak with
residents and visitors and educate and encourage pro environmental
behaviours such as not littering and picking up after your dog.
2022
o 10 new dog stations to be installed, to supply dog poo bags to those
in need.

Worth mentioning that three out of the five new community patrol officers mentioned have left the authority as their 12 month funding finished. The remaining two will be part time only and have a change of duties as well.

As the community patrol team are to be reduced as a result of the budget cuts , any of the above during daylight hours will be reduced.
