Thank you for your recent request for information held by Denbighshire County Council received 28 October 2013 regarding dog fouling.

As set out by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 it will be our aim to respond to your request by 25 November 2013. In some cases, however, we may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this occurs we will advise you of the likely timescale within which the response will be provided.

Under the Freedom of Information Act the Council may charge for disbursement costs (e.g. photocopies, postage). However should there be any such costs, you will be notified of this prior to the commencement of any work.

Q1.How many 'DOG FOULING FINES' have been successfully issued and paid
within in the town of Prestatyn in 2013, in 2012, in 2011, in 2010, in 2009 and in 2008?
A1. Please note that under section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 we do not hold the requested information for 2008 and 2009 and I cannot comply with this part of your request.

2013 - 3 tickets issued all paid
2012 - 2 tickets issued all paid
2011 - 3 tickets issued, 2 paid, 1 for prosecution
2010 - 1 ticket issued and paid

Q2.How many contracted hours are paid per year to those employed to manage this issue in 2013, in 2012, in 2011, 2010, in 2009 and in 2008?
A2. Enforcing environmental crime, such as dog fouling and littering, is part of many enforcement officers' role and not calculated separately. Under section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 I can confirm that this information is not held and therefore I cannot comply with this part of your request.

Q3.What has it cost the council annually to manage and issue 'DOG FOULING FINES' in 2013, in 2012, in 2011, 2010, in 2009 and in 2008?
A3. This issue is not calculated separately from other types of environmental crime and under section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 I can confirm that this information is not held and I cannot comply with this part of your request.
