Dear Broxbourne Borough Council,

Thank you for your prompt response to my FOI request.

I just want to clarify a couple of things. Your response indicates that you received two applications for new licences and one renewal application but that no new licences have been granted. This suggest all three application were refused but in response to the question about grounds for refusing to issue a licence you have stated “n/a”. Were all three applications refused? If so, why?

In response to my request for copies of all current licences you have stated “n/a”. Does this mean that at the current time there are no dog breeding licences issued?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Martina

Dear Martina,

Thank you for your email. Please see below the Council's comments in
response to your follow up questions:

I just want to clarify a couple of things. Your response indicates that
you received two applications for new licences and one renewal application
but that no new licences have been granted. This suggest all three
application were refused but in response to the question about grounds for
refusing to issue a licence you have stated “n/a”. Were all three
applications refused? If so, why? –

None of  the stated applications have yet been refused.  Local Authorities
aim to issue a decision of application within 10 weeks of receiving it.
The renewal application is nearing completion and the two new
applications mentioned are yet to be inspected and are in the first phase
of application.

In response to my request for copies of all current licences you have
stated “n/a”. Does this mean that at the current time there are no dog
breeding licences issued?  -

The renewal application has an old licence in force.  All three
applications mentioned have not had a new licence issued.  Broxbourne do
have a register online, you can view this via the following link
[1]https://ex.broxbourne.gov.uk/business-li...
- this is due to be updated and will list all current animal activity
licences in place.

Kind regards

Dear Freedom of Information,

The online register does not contain all the information on the licence. It only confirms that a licence is held. It gives no details of how many dogs are kept for breeding or any conditions attached to the licence Many councils specify the maximum number of litters on the premises at any one time or attach other conditions.

Please now provide a copy of all current licences.

Yours sincerely,

Martina
