Hello John,
DWP are b....y liars. Look at this link http://www.docstoc.com/docs/126689560/DW..., page 154 of the pdf document
Look for the number they gave you for new claims in 2008-2009: 151,523
Look at the number in the support group: 16,274
Look at the actual number of people who had completed their assessment : 50,257
That does not make 11% anymore does it? More than 32% which is in line with their pilot in Aberdeen

This is the 2nd request I have seen for the scripts used in the recording pilot (there may be others) and both times the DWP have supplied scripts Atos are using/have used when claimants themselves ask for a recording and NOT the scripts they used in 2011 when they conducted the pilot and canvassed selected new claimants to take part in it. Do they really think we are fooled by this substitution? I can't imagine why they are so reluctant to reveal how they represented this pilot to participants.

The 2 here match what I have been sent but I also have a third “Recording of Assessment – Enquiry Script” for anyone asking for a recording, painting the same disingenuous picture as in other DWP statements.

There is only one answer to Pam’s final question – they never wanted to do it from the outset but had to follow Harrington’s recommendations. Personally, I think Harrington largely missed the point by focussing on the need for a trial. He should have concentrated more on the problem itself that gave rise to the recommendation rather than a potential solution that doesn’t really address the root cause, which is to do with justifiable mistrust.
