Documents related to the decision to stop SciDev.Net funding 2

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department for International Development,

Could you please provide all written documentation, including financial reports, PowerPoint and other presentation materials, memos and e-mail communication – including those DFID staff exchanged with SciDev.Net staff and board of trustees – in the period between 1st April 2016 and 1 June 2016 that mention the decision and reasons for DFID stopping the funding of SciDev.Net.

For the portion of this request that covers emails, please do a keyword search of individuals who would have likely interacted with DFID for documents with the following keywords between those dates:

SciDev
SciDev.net

If you have suggestions for modifying my request, I'm happy to discuss — please just let me know.

Thank you for your help.

Yours faithfully,

Mico Tatalovic

Dear Mr Tatalovic,

Please find attached the Department for International Development's
response to your Freedom of Information request F2018-039.

The team asked me to pass on the following information to you when sending
the FOI response:

"It should be noted that there was not a decision taken to explicitly stop
funding Scidev.net. The organisation was awarded an accountable grant in
2014 (covering 2014-2017). The Minister of State who approved this stated
that this would be the final accountable grant awarded to the
organisation, which had received DFID grants since 2008, but that
Scidev.net would remain eligible to bid for DFID funds through open
competition. Scidev.net were informed of this at the time and at
subsequent meetings.”

Yours sincerely,

Alison Marshall
