covering the areas/services of the following abolished councils – Dorset
County Council, East Dorset District Council, North Dorset District
Council, Purbeck District Council, West Dorset District Council and
Weymouth & Portland Borough Council. You will receive one response from
Dorset Council. Over time all information requests to Dorset Council will
be answered for the whole Dorset Council area. However, during this
transition period, it may sometimes be necessary to provide information
based on some or all of the legacy councils.

Dear Mr Wells,
Information Request - reference no. DC1322
Thank you for your information request under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 (FOIA).
We would like to ask you for some clarification; the Dorset Police and
Crime Panel is not a separate legal entity that is accountable under the
FOIA, but is a joint panel between three authorities; Dorset Council,
Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council (our neighbouring authority)
and the Office of the Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner. Can you please
therefore confirm which authority you would like to request this
information from?
Please respond as soon as you can, so that we can proceed with your
request. In the meantime, your request has been put on hold. Once your
clarification is received, the 20 working day deadline for us to respond
to your request will begin.
However, if we do not receive your clarification within one calendar month
of this email, we will assume that you no longer require this information
and we will take no further action. Under Section 1(3) of the FOIA, a
public authority need not comply with a request unless any further
information reasonably required to locate the information is supplied.
Yours sincerely,
Information Compliance Team
Assurance

2) a copy of the last 5 dpias completed
Dorset Council was established on 1^st April 2019. We have only recently
(January 2020) adopted a corporate DPIA template and central register, and
whilst a number are now in progress, none are yet finalised and ready for
publication. The DPIAs we have in progress or about to start include: 1)
Unreasonable Contacts database; 2) Whole Family Working information
sharing; 3) Office 365 Data Loss Prevention; and 4) Technology solutions
that could be used in Social Care.
3) a copy of any internal mandatory information governance training that
you give to staff which was written in the last 2 years including
presentation slides and videos and any other media
Please see the Information Governance Guide attached.
4) a copy of any instructions given to staff members to reduce data
security breaches, for example double checking work
See the Information Governance Guide. In addition, please see the
attachment ‘Hidden Information Intranet Guidance’.
5) a copy of any policies implemented in the last 2 years within the
organisation to help reduce the environmental impact that the organisation
has?
Following the creation of Dorset Council, the council has agreed a policy
incorporating the political vision of our new councillors and the
priorities expressed by residents, town and parish councils, businesses
and representatives from the public, private and voluntary sectors. The
‘Dorset Council Plan’ sets out the council’s ambitions for the next four
years and makes delivering sustainable development whilst protecting and
enhancing Dorset’s environment a leading priority. Information about how
the council will deliver on enhancing and protecting Dorset’s environment
is available here:
[1]www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/your-council/about-your-council/dorset-council-plan/unique-environment.aspx
6) please can I have a copy of the risk rating that you use to evaluate
data security incidents?
Not specifically for evaluating security incidents, although we have a
general risk assessment methodology used to evaluate all types of
corporate risk.
You may wish to know that you can submit requests to Dorset Council via
our e-form at
[2]https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/your-co....
