Dear Sir,

Further to your recent request to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service
(NWFRS) made under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act regarding
its data protection documentation and details of the Service’s
environmental policies, the response from NWFRS is as follows:

1)    a copy of the current subject access request acknowledgment AND
response letter that you use

Please see attached file ‘Subject Access Request Acknowledgement and
Response’.

2)    a copy of the last 5 dpias completed

This information is exempt under Section 24 (National security) of the
Freedom of Information Act), as NWFRS believes releasing copies of
completed DPIAs could reveal details of weaknesses that may or may not
exist in the Service’s infrastructure, thereby exposing the Service to
potential security risks and the measures taken to mitigate those risks.
In applying this exemption the Service has considered the public interest
in releasing the information and believes that the public interest in
protecting parts of the country’s critical national infrastructure
outweighs the interest in its release. However, a blank copy of NWFRS’s
DPIA is attached for your information (see file ‘NWFRS DPIA’).

3)    a copy of any internal mandatory information governance training
that you give to staff which was written in the last 2 years including
presentation slides and videos and any other media

This information is exempt under Section 43(2) (Commercial Interests) of
the Freedom of Information Act, in that NWFRS’s mandatory information
governance training is provided through an eLearning package obtained from
Leeds City Council, which wholly owns the training and does not consent
to the release of the product or content. Release of the training would
put NWFS in breach of contract. Having carried out the required prejudice
test NWFRS is of the opinion that releasing the information would be
likely to prejudice the commercial interests of a third party, i.e. Leeds
City Council. With regard to the public interest test, NWFRS believes that
releasing the information would reduce Leeds City Council’s ability to
negotiate or compete in a commercial environment and, therefore, the
information is being withheld.

4)    a copy of any instructions given to staff members to reduce data
security breaches, for example double checking work

Please see attached file ‘What is a data breach’.

5)    a copy of any policies implemented in the last 2 years within the
organisation to help reduce the environmental impact that the organisation
has?

Please see attached document ‘NWFRS Sustainable Development Action Plan’.
You may wish to note that NWFRS has held the Platinum Award for
Sustainable Development since 2011, and this incorporates environmental
objectives which link back to the Sustainable Development Action Plan.

6)    please can I have a copy of the risk rating that you use to evaluate
data security incidents?

NWFRS does not use a risk rating to evaluate data security incidents and,
therefore, this information is not held.
