Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

I know Divine Rescue, 1 Thurlow Street, Southwark (other names: Direm; Christ High Commission International Ministries) are a work placement provider of 4 week placements for the Mandatory Work Activity (MWA) scheme

Could you please provide me with the following information:

1) The number of MWA placements at Divine Rescue over the last 2 years (they are in MWA region CPA3, London)

2) If possible, a breakdown by time of the number of MWA placements at Divine Rescue over the last two years. This could be done either by giving me the number of placements at Divine Rescue per smallest unit of time you have records for (e.g. months), or by giving me the date of each placement start - whichever is easier for you;

3) If possible and within the cost limit, the fees paid to Divine Rescue for each MWA placement by the MWA provider (in this case Seetec); or, if this is not possible

The total amount in fees paid to Divine Rescue over the last 2 years by the MWA provider; and if possible, a breakdown of this total amount by time, by giving me the amount of fees paid to Divine Rescue per smallest unit of time you have records for.

Yours faithfully,

Liam Sheehan

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work and Pensions's handling of my FOI request 'Divine Rescue MWA'.

I personally know Divine Rescue in Southwark take Mandatory Work Activity placements. This is now public knowledge, published here http://www.boycottworkfare.org/?page_id=16
Therefore you do not need to confirm,as it is already confirmed. Also they have been named for a while.
Based on these facts I hold that the FOI should be answered under public interest because if we know they are taking placements already we should know how they are being conducted.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...

Yours faithfully,

Liam Sheehan

Astonishing.

The DWP's reply amounts to "if releasing the information is going to potentially interfere with the MWA program and/or harm the profits of Seetec/CDG etc. then we're not going to release it".
