Distributing Funds

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust,

my name is Phillipa Peart, I am a health research student at the University Of Wolverhampton within the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing. My research aims to explore how organisations who aim to address mental health issues in the UK evaluate this area of their work. I am making contact with you as your organisation provides support to individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health conditions.

I can see that you have published your annual reports on the website, therefore, can you provide me with the following information ?

What method/algorithm do you use when spending or distributing the funds ?

Yours faithfully,
phillipa peart

TIGHE, Gill (BLACK COUNTRY PARTNERSHIP NHS FOUNDATION TRUST),

Dear Phillipa,

FOI 19-375 request regarding funds

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request on the above
subject. We have completed our search for information and the details are
as follows:

Please be aware that the Trusts finances in relation to spend on mental
health provision is directed from the CCGs.  The CCGs are the NHS bodies
who ultimately determine the health requirements of their populations and
so would be better placed in answering how they determine the financial
spends/costs in relation to mental health provision (based on government
direction and local needs).  As a provider Trust we support their
‘commissioning intentions’ each year in relation to areas of focus/need by
agreeing a ‘price’ to deliver the service needs they require.  Please be
aware that the CCG’s can chose whether to invest this in NHS Trusts or in
third party/voluntary providers.

For the Trust you would need to direct your questions to both Dudley and
Walsall CCGs.

If you would like to interview a member of the Trusts finance team in
relation to your initial questions, your time may be best spent with the
CCG directly.  However please feel free to contact us if you would like to
direct any to us as a provider organisation.

The full Freedom of Information Act 2000 is available on the legislation
website via the following link:
[1]http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2000.... The Trust is
regarding this response as a full and complete discharge of its
responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in relation to
this request. I trust it fulfils your requirements but should you have any
concerns please do not hesitate to contact me and I will attempt to
resolve your issues.

In the event you pursue a complaint/investigation and are not content with
the outcome, you have the option to apply directly to the Information
Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision
unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the Trust.
The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information
Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9
5AF.

Yours sincerely
