Disposal of tram donated for display
Dear Transport for West Midlands,
I would like to request some information regarding the recent disposal of the former Midland Metro T69 tram reportedly donated to the city for display as mentioned in the following article,
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/mi....
Photographs online show this vehicle being disposed of in a scrap yard.
The details I would like to request are as follows;
When was the decision taken to dispose of the vehicle?
Why was the vehicle disposed of instead of being put on display?
Who made the decision to dispose of the vehicle?
What alternatives were looked at for the future preservation of the vehicle and why were they discounted?
Were any private museums, i.e. transport related museums. offered the vehicle or was it offered solely to scrap merchants/
How much, if any, was paid for the acquisition of the vehicle?
How much was received from the scrap merchants for the vehicle?
I would also like to request copies of the minutes of any meetings discussing the future/disposal of the vehicle.
Yours faithfully,
James Boden

Is there any update on the progress of my request? Under FOI law Transport for West Midlands should have responded by 30 August. Any update would be appreciated.
