I refer to your recent request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. I can confirm that the Council does hold this
information, as detailed below.
Please provide details relating to furniture and owned IT equipment from
the existing Civic Centre as follows,
1. What furniture and IT equipment is being relocated to the new City
Hall?
The Mayoral Chair, specialist chairs and large screen tv monitors,
Multi-function devices (printer/photocopiers) and some desk phones along
with the computers utilised by staff who will be working within City Hall.
2. What furniture and IT equipment is being re-deployed at other council
owned premises?
Meeting tables, meeting chairs, lockers, desks, pedestals, office chairs
and café furniture, TV screens, Multi-function devices
(printer/photocopiers) and some desk phones, monitors and computers will
be deployed to other sites.
3. What furniture and IT equipment is being sold?
No furniture is being sold. End of life computers and equipment are
disposed of via the council’s secure disposal contract. The Council
receives a small profit share where any residual value exists on items.
4. For items being sold, please provide a breakdown of including
depreciated value vs sale value.
We do not have a breakdown of which IT equipment was specifically from the
Civic Centre. Only redundant equipment is disposed of.
5. For items being sold, who are they being sold to and what tender
process was put in place to ensure market value?
Redundant IT equipment is disposed of via the Council’s contract with
Protech City Ltd. 20% of obsolete computers are provided to the GO! Get
Online Tech Appeal. The procurement process can be found at the following

6. What furniture and IT equipment is being disposed of (without charge)?
No furniture is being disposed of; any surplus furniture is going to be
recycled.
We do not have a breakdown of which IT equipment was specifically from the
Civic Centre. Only redundant equipment is disposed of.
7. For items being disposed of, please provide a breakdown including the
items age, depreciated value, method of disposal and cost of disposal.
We do not have a breakdown of which IT equipment was specifically from the
Civic Centre. Only redundant equipment is disposed of. The Council
receives a small profit share where any residual value exists on items on
IT items.
8. What furniture and IT equipment has been gifted to contractors,
employees or councillors?
We have not gifted any furniture or IT equipment to contractors, employees
or councillors. However, as part of our duty of care as a responsible
employer the council has offered employees the opportunity to take a desk,
pedestal, office chair and monitor screen to be used for homeworking, as
they must be able to work from home in a fully DSE compliant way.
9. For items that have been gifted, please provide a breakdown including
depreciated value and age of items.
