Disposal of assets when a member of parliament is voted out of office

Cabinet Office did not have the information requested.

Dear Cabinet Office,

Please advise what happens to assets claimed on expenses when a Member of Parliament is no longer able to sit in the Houses of Parliament, through losing their seat, deselection, retirement etc.

Do the assets, such as printers, mobile phones get returned to the taxpayer, in order to be utilised or does the person keep the assets?

Yours faithfully,

Wayne Tully
