Dear M Spring,

Following my acknowledgement to your request yesterday (dated 5^th October
2022), I have now received a response from the responsible department.

You asked for the following information:

Prescribing data as is published on a monthly basis but also including the
dispenser code as well as the prescriber code. This should include all
prescriptions written on the following prescriptions:

WP10

WP10SS

WP10SP

WP10HP

WP10HSP

The fields we are requesting are Dispensing period (month/year),
ContractorID, Prescriber Code, BNFCode, Items, Quantity and NIC. We would
like this data for every month from January 2019 to the most recent
dispensing month available, in csv format.

At this moment in time, the information you have requested is not
available and it would require extensive development work to be able to
fulfil.  The developers that NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP)
employ have a number of commitments with ongoing live work for the
foreseeable future.

Therefore, we are issuing an exemption under the aforementioned Act
relying on section 12 (where cost of compliance exceeds appropriate
limit). With this in mind, it is likely that the work will exceed 18 hours
which is the maximum time afforded to FOI requests directed towards Public
Authorities.

Section 12 of FOIA allows us, as a public authority to refuse to deal with
a request where it estimates that it would exceed the appropriate limit
to:

• either comply with the request in its entirety or;
• confirm or deny whether the requested information is held.

However, as a duty to advise and assist in the spirit of the Act, I will
keep your request on file and you are welcome to contact me for an update
later this year to enquire when this information may be available to be
completed for download.

I trust that this response explains our current situation and I am mindful
that this is not the answer you are expecting. However, if you have any
questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Under Section 16 (advise and assist) we have facilitated your request and
have followed our processes to ensure that you have been provided with a
response.

Should you be dissatisfied with the process followed then you have the
right to request that we conduct an internal review. If you would like us
to conduct such a review, please contact us within two months of the date
of this response to my email address below:

If you are still dissatisfied following the Internal Review, you have the
right under Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act (2000) to appeal
against the decision by contacting the Information Commissioner:
