Disley A6MARR Mitigation - Cycle Lanes Safety Audit

A. Sheridan made this Freedom of Information request to Cheshire East Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Cheshire East Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Cheshire East Council,

In late 2017 a “mitigation” scheme including “cycle lanes” was completed on the A6 Buxton Road West, financed by funds from the A6MARR (A555) road building scheme.

I am writing to request you provide full copies of the final Road Safety Audit undertaken for the final design of this scheme, which includes:

- Dashed advisory cycle markings, intermittent
- No reduction to 40mph speed limit
- No removal of central traffic bollard islands, forcing narrowing of carriageway

Given the changes above, a Road Safety Audit should have been completed to ensure the new road layout does not pose an increased danger to any road users. Please provide this in full along with any supporting documentation relating to the final design decisions undertaken.

Yours faithfully,

A. Sheridan
