David Andrew Jameson made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Work and Pensions Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

The request was refused by Department for Work and Pensions.

David Andrew Jameson

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

For the last 3 years to date can you supply a figure for each year and a total of

1. How many employees, contractor and agency staff employed or contracted by the DWP have taken the DWP to court or tribunal for a) disability discrimination b) any other discrimination (list by type)

2. How many of those people received an award from the DWP prior to a hearing and the amount by year and by discrimination type

3. How many people had a court decision made in their favour where they had an award, list by discrimination type and amount by year and total

When I refer to discrimination I refer to any form of discrimination by the DWP or it’s contractors towards a member of staff employee employed by the DWP or it contractors by the way of discrimination by the DWP either by its policies, procedures, protocols or discrimination from any staff / management towards its staff or contractors discrimination being defined by the equality act or disability discrimination act

If you don’t have contractor information base it solely on the DWP

If you can’t supply monthly figures as you will cite it might identify a data subject provide annual or a total. If you can’t break it down by discrimination type for the same reason only focus on disability discrimination or discrimination in general

If possible and cost permits how many complaints of discrimination by disabled staff regarding disability for the same duration as an annual total and percent this comprises of disabled staff

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

David Andrew Jameson

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Clarification: Where I refer to court it’s employment tribunal and settling discrimination claims outside of court / employment tribunal

Ann Arthur left an annotation ()

According to figures released in the past 6 plus years bullying and discrimination by staff against staff has held steady at 12% previous foi response on staff survey. Dwp were using agent solicitors and barristers as they generally use criminal solicitors in house and cps barristers for fraud work.
I suggest a look at employment tribunal decisions on line as these cannot be removed by dwp and they will not disclose money spent on agents for commercial or humiliation reasons.
