Dear Sir or Madam,

Is funding based on suspect out of date statistics and criteria , as I feel the system is saying I am disabled and too old , yet disabled say not disabled enough .

It didn't say that when took university fees for recent BA /MA.
Also do you have a DISABILITY officer[s] who address access and these issues who is pro - active with those in discretionary areas ?

Yours faithfully,

Arts Council England

Dear Julie

We refer to your request for information (see below). We advise that Arts
Council England (ACE) have processed your request for information in
accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

For completion purposes, we will address each point of your request for
ease of reference.

'Is funding based on suspect out of date statistics and criteria , as I
feel the system is saying I am disabled and too old , yet disabled say not
disabled enough'

We advise that in the monitoring section of the grants for the arts
application form, ACE ask applicants questions about ethnicity,
disability, sexuality and gender. ACE does not ask any questions on the
age of an applicant. We ask this information so that we can monitor and
report on how we have spent our funding of which we receive from the
National Lottery. We do not use this information to assess a grant for
the arts application. Monitoring information is separated from the
application form and cannot be seen by the assessing officer.

'...do you have a DISABILITY officer[s] who address access and these
issues who is pro - active with those in discretionary areas?'

We advise that ACE has diversity officers in various offices that provide
assistance and advice with respect to disability and access concerns.
Please advise us as to whether you would like to get in touch with a
diversity officer and we will provide you with contact details.

If you are not satisfied with the way we handled your request for
information, you can use the complaints procedure or complain to the
Information Commissioner. Our complaints procedure, 'Making a complaint'
is available to download from our website at the following link:
