Dear Newham Borough Council,

How much money is allocated for NBC’s Discretionary Housing Payment fund for year April 2013 – March 2014?

How much was allocated to NBC’s Discretionary Housing Payment fund for year April 2012 – March 2013?

What percentage of NBC’s Discretionary Housing Payment fund for April 2013 – March 2014 came from central government?

What percentage of NBC’s Discretionary Housing Payment fund for April 2012 – March 2013 came from central government?

Where did NBC receive the funds that were not allocated from central government for both April 2013 – March 2014 and April 2012 – March 2013?

Please provide me with the criteria that NBC is currently using to make decisions on Discretionary Housing Payment awards and set out the way in which DHP applications are processed including how many people are tasked with processing them.

If this criteria and process has changed since April 2012 please provide details of the previous criteria and process for dealing with applications for DHP.

Please can you provide me with a monthly breakdown of the number applications received for Discretionary Housing Payments broken down by month for January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December 2013 and for January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December 2012. For each month can you indicate whether the applicant had assistance filling in the form?

How much of this year’s DHP allocation has already been awarded?

How many Discretionary Housing Payment applicants are currently awaiting a decision?

How many Discretionary Housing Payment applications were successful in 2013?

Please provide me with the average length of time to process a Discretionary Housing Payment application.

Does NBC have a policy relating to Discretionary Housing Payment for those affected by the under-occupation penalty regarding the length payment is awarded, if so can you provide a copy?

Does NBC have a policy relating to Discretionary Housing Payment for those affected by the under-occupation penalty regarding the amount of payment compared to the amount deducted from Housing Benefit as a result of the under occupation policy, if so can you provide a copy?

Does NBC have a policy relating to Discretionary Housing Payment for those affected by the benefit cap regarding the length payment is awarded, if so can you provide a copy?

Does NBC have a policy relating to Discretionary Housing Payment for those affected by the benefit cap regarding the amount of payment compared to the amount deducted from Housing Benefit as a result of the under occupation policy, if so can you provide a copy?

Is there a limit to the number of applications that may be made by the same household for Discretionary Housing Payment?
