Dear Argyll and Bute Council,

1. Please could you provide the percentage of discretionary deferral requests which the local authority has provided an extra year of early learning and childcare funding for since 2013. Please only include those children born on or after the school commencement date in August and 31 Dec who were granted an extra year of funding.

2. Please could you also provide the total number of applications for discretionary deferral funding received and the total number successful for each year since 2013. Please only include those children born on or after the school commencement date in August and 31 Dec who were granted an extra year of funding.

I refer to your request for information, which was dealt with in terms of
the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA).

 

I have attached the following information in fulfilment of your request. 
Please note that I have been advised by our Early Years Team that
information is no longer held prior to academic year 2015-2016, therefore
I must partially apply the Section 17 exemption of FOISA (information not
held).

 

1.     Please could you provide the percentage of discretionary deferral
requests which the local authority has provided an extra year of early
learning and childcare funding for since 2013. Please only include those
children born on or after the school commencement date in August and 31
Dec who were granted an extra year of funding.

2015 – 2016: 100%

2016 – 2017: 88%

2017 – 2018: 85%

2018 – 2019: 100%

 

 

2.     Please could you also provide the total number of applications for
discretionary deferral funding received and the total number successful
for each year since 2013. Please only include those children born on or
after the school commencement date in August and 31 Dec who were granted
an extra year of funding.

2015 – 2016: 14 Applicants; 14 Successful

2016 – 2017: 16 Applicants; 14 Successful

2017 – 2018: 13 Applicants; 11 Successful

2018 – 2019: 13 Applicants; 13 Successful

notification of refusal or partial refusal.

You must make representation to the Scottish Information Commissioner no
later than 6 months after the date of receipt by you of the notice or
