Patricia Anderson

Dear East Dunbartonshire Council,

Thank you for the response to my Freedom of Information request which you sent on 11/1/19. I have copied and pasted your answer to question 2 below as I am a little confused. Please can you explain why the total number funded plus the total number unfunded in 2016/2017 and 2018/2019 does not add up to the total number of applications in both of these years? For example, in 2016/2017 there were 21 applications but 10 funded plus 5 unfunded does not equal 21.

Kind regards,

Patricia Anderson

Dear Ms Anderson

Thank you for your further request for information/clarification. In answer
to your enquiry I can provide the following response on behalf of East
Dunbartonshire Council:

The figures do not add up because some parents cancelled their request for
a deferred year, and instead sent their child to school. For example, in
2016/2017 there were 21 applications, but parents for 6 applications decided
not to defer.

Dear East Dunbartonshire Council,

Re FoI 538180

Thank you for your email on 21/2/19 in response to my query. Can you confirm whether the 6 parents who cancelled their requests in 2016/2017 and the 5 in 2018/2019 did so before a decision was made by the Council on whether to fund their child's further year in nursery or not? I am trying to establish whether the result of their funding application was known to them before they decided to withdraw their applications and send their child to school.

Yours faithfully,

Patricia Anderson
