Dear  ‎Anna Kirsten‏

Freedom of Information Act 2000
Your Request:
Would it be possible for you to provide me with the following information:
The total number of staff that are employed by your Council, as well as
the total number of staff who are eligible to have a Disclosure and
Barring Service criminal record check.
Of this total number of staff who are eligible to have a DBS check, how

Our Response

I can confirm that we hold the data you are seeking.

From our preliminary assessment, we estimate that to provide you with this
data it would take significantly longer than the current limit, and that
compliance with your request would exceed the appropriate costs limit
under section 12 of the Freedom of information Act 2000. This is currently
£ 450.00 . We estimate that the cost will be a minimum of  £ 750.00 to
comply with your request. This is because we cannot identify easily who is
currently employed and who has left, given our payroll system and DBS
records are not aligned and therefore would be a manual matching exercise,
looking up each employer on SAP and then looking on the DBS records and
further back.

Given this, we will not be proceeding with your request as it stands but,
if you would like to refine your request, then we would be happy to look
at it again. .

This response therefore acts as a refusal notice under section 17 of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please quote the reference number 6342041 in any future communications.
I will now close this request.
If you feel your request has not been answered in sufficient detail, or if
you wish to clarify the information given, please contact me, and I will
be happy to address the issues you raise.

Alternatively, if you are not satisfied with our response you may request
an internal review. This is an independent investigation into the handling
of your request, which is carried out by the Information Governance Team.
The conclusions of this investigation, and if applicable, a fresh decision
about the information to be provided, should be sent to you within twenty
working days of receipt of the internal review request.

To request an Internal Review please respond to this email detailing why
you are not satisfied  and your request will be dealt with by the
information governance team.
